FAQ

GENERAL

What is WonderGrove?

WonderGrove uses engaging animated characters immersed in fun stories to target six crucial areas of growth essential for every child’s success: Nutrition, Safety, Functional Life Skills, Health & Science, Fitness and Character Education. WonderGrove Learn is designed for Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade and offers classroom lessons aligned to Federal Common Core Standards.

What am I buying with a WonderGrove Instructional Animation Membership?

Membership includes access to more than 100 animated instructions and over 2,000 extension lessons. There is nothing to download as all of our animated videos are streamed through a website browser. Additionally, our animations are viewable on most any device that has an internet connection. A membership includes the ability to download our printable extensions that go along with the animated lessons.

What Are the Different Product Versions WonderGrove Offers?

Currently WonderGrove Learn comes in English, Spanish, Sign Language by Signing Savvy, assistive learning by Symbolstix and coming soon is Dual Language Enrichment for two-way language immersion.

How do teachers use Instructional Animations in the classroom?

Because our lessons are aligned to Common Core Standards teachers often use WonderGrove as part of their lesson plan. A good time to use animation in the classroom is mid-morning and mid-afternoon when children need to hear a 2nd voice in the classroom. When used with our extension lessons, teachers can satisfy a common core requirement while introducing the child to positive learning in the area of nutrition, health & science, safety, fitness, life skills or social skills.

Other ways to use WonderGrove Learn include:

  • Consider using Instructional Animations as a transition during what would normally be a difficult part of the day, such as: lunch to class work or recess to class time. A short 3-minute lesson with group activity could re-focus the entire class on learning.
  • Try using Instructional Animations as a calming end-of-day lesson. A short 3-minute lesson with coloring page or printed book for off-screen practice or discussion can use those final minutes of the day when many kids are only looking at the clock.
  • Some teachers use Instructional Animations in the morning immediately after the daily announcements so they can refer to the daily lesson throughout the school day. If the morning includes a short, 3-minute lesson about bullying, healthy food choices or school rules, school staff can reinforce those messages all day.

Is all of WonderGrove Learn aligned to Federal Common Core Standards?

No, only the downloadable Extension Lessons are aligned to Federal Common Core Standards, the videos themselves are not. But nearly all of the videos are accompanied by Extension Lessons that tie in to the animated lesson.

Troubleshooting

I’ve purchased but can’t see the Instructional Animations?

If you purchased for the first time an email will be sent to the email address you used during registration with your username and password (you may have to check your junk mail in the event the email was accidently redirected). After you receive this email simply return to http://www.wondergrovelearn.com/ click “login” located within the top navigation bar and enter your information.

Video Still Won’t Play?

If you’ve updated your browser, enabled HTML5 and or Flash, and are using at least the above minimum requirements, you might need to change some settings in your browser.

Here is how to fix one issue we found on slower computers with Chrome:

  1. Go into your browser settings or tools
  2. Click “Advanced Settings”
  3. Scroll down to “System”
  4. Uncheck the box which reads “Use hardware acceleration when available”.
  5. While in the browser settings, check that your system hasn’t been hijacked by an ad serving software or virus. If you’re search engine is not one you recognize, your system may have been hijacked by adware.
  6. Uninstall the adware (fake search engines) and reset your default search engine to the one you prefer to use.
  7. If all else fails, you can always have your computer checked out by a technician.
